Multiple New Lease Agreements Strengthen Office Performance, Bolstering Local Economic Growth

Howard Hughes Holdings Inc. (NYSE: HHH) is welcoming seven new office tenants at Hughes Landing®, the award-winning 79-acre mixed-use development in The Woodlands®, one of the most successful master planned communities in the nation. Totaling over 60,000 square feet, the deals are the latest sign of The Woodlands’ capacity to attract growing businesses to the vibrant community north of Houston. Celebrating its 50th anniversary next year, The Woodlands continues to power economic growth throughout the region, offering residents and businesses a lifestyle that seamlessly unites sustainable natural beauty with modern convenience.

At 89% leased, The Woodlands office portfolio for Howard Hughes continues to outperform Downtown Houston signifying the demand for quality office space located within amenity-rich environments.

Waste Connections Expands Presence with New Regional Office

North American integrated waste services company Waste Connections already calls The Woodlands home, occupying 116,817 square feet at 3 Waterway for its US corporate headquarters. With the company’s continued growth, Waste Connections will be taking an additional 27,390 square feet at Three Hughes Landing, further solidifying the firm’s confidence in the master planned community as a place to operate its business. The Southern Region Office and headquarters will occupy the new space, providing the team with the necessary space to grow and support the Southern Region.

Waste Connections has been located in The Woodlands since 2016, citing the community’s innovative approach to urban planning and community development as the driving factor behind their decision to continue calling The Woodlands home.

Weaver Relocates Office for More Collaborative Growth

Houston-based national certified public accounting firm Weaver is moving into an 11,087-square-foot office at One Hughes Landing. The branch welcomes 35 new team members, complementing its Houston’s Galleria area headquarters. Wade Watson, the partner-in-charge of Weaver’s Energy Compliance Services practice, will serve as the new executive partner of The Woodlands office.

The Woodlands’ active lifestyle helped attract Weaver’s relocation, providing employees and clients with access to sought-after residential neighborhoods, top-tier school districts, and plenty of amenities like restaurants and local events. With many employees already residing in the area, Weaver hopes its presence in The Woodlands will help attract new talent to the firm.

Citadel Partners’ Managing Partner Scott Morse and Senior Advisor Katherine Jessen represented Weaver in the transaction.

Design Tech Homes Establishes New Design Center in The Woodlands

Design Tech Homes, a family-owned custom home builder, is leasing 11,020 square feet at Two Hughes Landing. This significant move marks the establishment of a new design center that will act as the central hub for custom design operations in the Houston area.

The strategic choice of The Woodlands as the location for this expansion underscores Design Tech Homes’ commitment to environmental quality, aligning seamlessly with its core vision and values. The selected building is Energy Star Certified, resonating with Design Tech Homes’ own status as an Energy Star Certified builder. Since its inception almost 50 years ago, the urban planning in this wooded oasis has embodied environmental preservation and social consciousness, making The Woodlands a natural fit for Design Tech Homes’ shared commitment. Plenty of greenspace makes a commitment to health and wellness easier than ever, offering a variety of outdoor activities like paddle boarding or hike-and-bike trails just steps from the office.

GreenDot Opens North American Headquarters at Hughes Landing

Plastic recycling solutions provider GreenDot is aiming to expand its North American operations by establishing a new 6,707-square-foot space to accommodate 25-30 new employees serving as the company’s North American headquarters at Three Hughes Landing. GreenDot was attracted to The Woodlands by the master planned community’s sustainability and environmental responsibility, demonstrated by the multiple LEED-certified buildings making up Hughes Landing.

Beusa Energy LLC, Sealube Marine and DME Express LLC

Beusa Energy LLC signed an expansion of 4,112 square feet for its finance and accounting department at Three Hughes Landing, expanding its square footage to a total of 23,991 square feet. “The leadership of Howard Hughes and the energy of The Woodlands’ community is attractive for both our companies and employees,” remarked Jeff Morris, Executive Chairman at Beusa Energy.

Additionally, Sealube Marine entered into an agreement for a 3,046-square-foot lease at One Hughes Landing, and DME Express LLC agreed to a 2,720-square-foot lease at Three Hughes Landing.

Complementing its office portfolio, Hughes Landing features diverse dining options along Restaurant Row, shopping anchored by Whole Foods® Market, Embassy Suites by Hilton, luxury multifamily residences at One Lakes Edge® and Two Lakes Edge, ongoing entertainment including live music at Hughes Landing Band Shell, and outdoor art installations. Shoal by Squidsoup, an experiential art piece featuring 750 individual orbs of light suspended in air and programmed to mesmerize with their movement, is the latest art to debut at Hughes Landing.
