    The Woodlands' eagles get ready for summer vacation

    As residents of The Woodlands start planning their summer vacations, a patriotic American bird does too - the eagle. Hughes Landing, the 66-acre mixed use development on Lake Woodlands, is home to a pair of eagles and their eaglet. As the young eaglet fledges, the family of eagles prepares to migrate north towards Canada for cooler weather. They’ll begin their flight in June or July and return sometime between August and September.

    Since 2000, eagles have nested in the community around Lake Woodlands, making their homes in East Shore, Hughes Landing and the Bear Branch Reservoir.
