Howard Hughes and The Woodlands Township would like to thank our corporate partners for their support of The Woodlands 50th Anniversary celebration. In this series, we highlight our partners and the positive impact they make in our community throughout the year.

Since 1919, Houston Methodist has been committed to providing the very best care and service possible for patients in the Houston region. Starting as a small hospital in downtown Houston and growing into an integrated health care network, serving patients across the Greater Houston area and in The Woodlands, Houston Methodist proudly opened its doors to The Woodlands community in 2017. They quickly expanded the hospital campus with a new patient care tower in 2022 and are in the process of expanding, yet again, to serve the growing needs of The Woodlands.

“We saw our first patients in 2016 with the opening of our Breast Care Center. Since then, we have built a world-class hospital facility, emergency care centers, and a primary care specialty care network of nearly 200 providers across 11 practices that serve The Woodlands and surrounding communities,” said David P. Bernard, CEO of Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital.

Appreciating the history, passion, and vision of George Mitchell for The Woodlands that centered around the idea that residents could live, work, play, learn and pray without ever leaving their community is the reason Houston Methodist choose to locate here. “Sharing in The Woodlands’ grand vision, we are committed to adding “heal” to this vision by providing the very best care possible right here in our community, so that residents can live, work, play, learn, pray AND heal without ever leaving The Woodlands,” shared Bernard.

The Woodlands is home to thousands of families enjoying vibrant communities, excellent schools, event programming, retail, religious, employment opportunities and top-notch healthcare. With Houston Methodist expanding in one of the fastest growing areas of the country, the future is bright for Houston Methodist and residents of The Woodlands. “We believe our residents deserve the best health care, close to home, and that is exactly what we have delivered since opening our doors,” said Bernard.

The Woodlands has been ranked as one of the best places to live in the country and Houston Methodist The Woodlands is one of the very best places to receive care as a patient, work as an employee, practice as a physician, and volunteer for the community. Consistently ranked as the number one complex care medical center in the nation and one of the best places to work, Houston Methodist’s vision of providing patients with unparalleled safety, quality, service and innovation connects very nicely with the vision for The Woodlands. Employees actively participate in service to the community through 22 charitable organizations and Houston Methodist’s Community Benefits Program provides access to high quality affordable health care to lesser served areas of the Houston region.

As we celebrate the Woodlands 50th Anniversary, Houston Methodist is excited to set new standards in care and service and introduce new and effective innovations to continue leading medicine in Montgomery County for generations to come.

Thanks to Houston Methodist The Woodlands for being a sponsor for The Woodlands 50th Anniversary. Having quality health care so close to home is one of the reasons so many choose to make The Woodlands their home.
