The Woodlands is celebrating its 50th Anniversary, commemorating a remarkable journey spanning half a century of vision, innovation and excellence, as well as a promising future for our award-winning and nationally recognized master planned community.

As part of the weeklong celebration from Monday through Saturday, October 14-19, Howard Hughes and The Woodlands Township partnered with Interfaith of The Woodlands to offer a Day of Giving for the community to show its spirit of generosity. Interfaith of The Woodlands has played a pivotal role in shaping The Woodlands into the community it is today. Founded in 1973, Interfaith of The Woodlands originated from the vision of George P. Mitchell, Founder of The Woodlands, who dreamed of ensuring every resident would find a spiritual home.

Mission of Interfaith

Interfaith provides upwards of 800,000 service contacts each year, impacting millions of lives since its inception. This remarkable achievement is made possible through the generosity and support of local businesses, corporations, civic organizations, schools, and neighbors who believe in Interfaith’ s mission.

“The spirit of generosity is one of the founding pillars of our great community. Building community and service has been at the forefront of the vision of The Woodlands since its inception, and as the hometown non-profit, we have the great privilege of seeing neighbors helping neighbors every single day,” said Missy Herndon, President & CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands.  “We are so grateful to be chosen as the beneficiary of The Woodlands 50th Anniversary Day of Giving and look forward to celebrating this golden anniversary through acts of service during the month of October!”
