Concert Complements a Weeklong Celebration, Hosted by Howard Hughes and The Woodlands Township, Highlighting The Woodlands 50th Anniversary and Commitment to Philanthropy,
Green Space and Public Art

Howard Hughes announces they will host a free concert to celebrate The Woodlands® 50th Anniversary featuring four-time Grammy award winner, country music legend and resident of The Woodlands area, Lyle Lovett, and His Large Band, with singer-songwriter Hayes Carll, a native of The Woodlands, as the opening act. The event will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. The free anniversary concert is one of many events planned for a weeklong celebration, leading up to the 50th anniversary of the award-winning master planned community. Howard Hughes and The Woodlands Township have partnered on the year-long celebration.

“We are thrilled to be sponsoring this event, alongside the other weeklong festivities focused on key pillars of our development, as envisioned by George Mitchell years ago. We hope that through our sponsorship, we honor all our team members who have worked to create this community, those still working with us today and those who came before. We are grateful for the support of our community’s residents and businesses, and eagerly anticipate the next 50 years ahead,” said Jim Carman, President, Houston Region for Howard Hughes. “Given that both Lyle Lovett and Hayes Carll have personal connections to The Woodlands, this 50th anniversary concert holds an extra layer of significance.”
