Romina Cervantes — Favorite Parks for Kids in The Woodlands

Meet The Woodlands’ May Valley resident Romina Cervantes, owner of Chilesquiles Salsas. Originally from Quadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, she is married and has 5 children. We caught up with her and husband Octavio and 4 of their 5 children at Market Street’s newly remodeled Central Park as she answered our Woodlander questionnaire. 

What are your top 3 parks to play with your kids at?
Northshore Park (swingsets with a lake view!), Terramont Park (roam the rolling hills) and Market Street (we love the new lawn games).

When and from where did you move to The Woodlands?
1n 2010 we moved from Los Angeles.

Favorite band or solo rocker from your teen years?
Queen.

What books are on your bedside table or what media is in your streaming queue?
Whip It, Maleficent and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Favorite dish from a local restaurant?
Any of the fondeaus at Cru in Market Street.

You win airline tickets to any destination. Where would you travel?
Maldives or Nepal.

Favorite local store?
Johnny Was and Anthropologie.

Favorite nature spot?
Spindle Tree Trails in May Valley.

Something not everyone knows about you?
I love to play dress up in my collection of vintage dresses and accessories and enjoy rollerskating.

Favorite area event?
4th of July Red, Hot and Blue Festival.

What is on your bucket list?
Surf in Australia, hike in Sri Lanka, visit a monastery in Nepal and shop for market treasures in Jaipur, India!
