Artist Marlo Saucedo’s lifetime love of the written word profoundly influences her artworks. She works in English, Spanish, and French, using lists, quotes, poetry and research in a style with ink, acrylic and paper she describes as a visual arts narrative.
From afar we see can see her artworks in one way, and, then are delighted to get to view it another way when we are up close—seeing the actual written words in her precision ink strokes.
Saucedo just finished a show at Le Méredien hotel in Houston for their “Unlock Art: Key Card” spring 2018 program. She is also finishing two commissioned pieces for MD Anderson’s newest cancer center in League City, Texas and finalizing a commission for The Woodlands Waterway Arts Council.
This piece is a tree containing the 250+ personal cultural/heritage/tradition/ancestral stories as transcribed from attendees’ writing on paper leaves during the first annual Cultural and Heritage Festival in November of 2017 in The Woodlands.
