For the third year in a row, The Woodlands has garnered prestigious rankings by Niche.

In the 2023 “Best Places” national survey of 228 cities by Niche, The Woodlands has been named as the:

  • #1 Best Community To Buy a House in America
  • #2 Best Community to Raise a Family in America
  • #3 Best Community to Live In America (#1 in 2021 and 2022)

In this year’s survey, The Woodlands also earned an overall grade of A+ by Niche for qualities that included family-friendly, public schools, jobs, housing, outdoor activities, health and fitness, diversity, crime and safety, weather, nightlife, commute, and cost of living.

The Woodlands is one of the most acclaimed master planned communities in the country and has consistently been included in the top ten rankings by Niche on its annual list of the best places to live, buy a home, raise a family, retire and best public education.  The Woodlands is being developed by The Howard Hughes Corporation which continues to focus on the vision of founder of The Woodlands, George Mitchell.

Niche has the most comprehensive data on towns, neighborhoods, cities, and schools across the U.S. Its rankings are based on rigorous analysis of key statistics from the U.S. Department of Education and millions of reviews of various factors that include community safety, quality public education, a favorable cost of living, job opportunities and local amenities.
