The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated “A Night in Emerald City” – representing the fictional capital of Oz from the movie, The Wizard of Oz. Julie Ambler, Head of School for The Woodlands Christian Academy, was honored for her term as Chairman of the Board for The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce.
“Over the past year, we have witnessed Julie embody the definition of grace and integrity as she navigated the challenges of COVID and the issue of incorporation being on the November 2021 ballot,” said JJ Hollie, President of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to celebrating Ambler, The Woodlands Area Chamber welcomed Jim Carman, President – Houston Region for The Howard Hughes Corporation, as the new Chairman of the Board.
“We are so pleased to have Jim serving as Chairman of the Board for this upcoming year. People and businesses want to be located in communities that they trust will embody their values while offering an exceptional quality of life,” said JJ Hollie. “Jim Carman and The Howard Hughes Corporation have done that here in The Woodlands. We are excited to have this type of leadership at the Chamber.”
Carman is currently in his third year of serving on the Chamber Board. “I am honored to serve as the Chairman of the Board for The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce. The Woodlands is my hometown, and it truly is a wonderful place to live, work, play, learn and discover,” said Jim Carman. “Howard Hughes is also proud to call The Woodlands home to our headquarters, like so many other businesses that put quality of life for their team members at the top of their priority list.”
Jim Carman also proudly serves within the community as a Board Member for Montgomery County Food Bank and for Interfaith of The Woodlands.
The infamous Wizard of Oz quote, “There is no place like home,” rang true as community leaders gathered for the festivities including Congressman Kevin Brady and his wife Cathy who were also in attendance to celebrate the accomplishments of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce.
