Howard Hughes has sponsored this event for over 30 years

Since 1990, The Howard Hughes Corporation has been a proud founding sponsor of the annual Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s Independence Day Eve Patriotic Concert.

This year, on July 3, The Pavilion is hosting the free concert, Stars at Night: A Salute to Service, featuring The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra, led by Artistic Director, Darryl Bayer.  It’s a kick-off to America’s birthday weekend celebration, honoring The Woodlands area’s local service heroes.

Co-sponsored by Howard Hughes and Woodforest National Bank, this event will feature patriotic musical favorites and also recognize teachers, first responders, medical teams and frontline pandemic workers. The event is free for all residents; no tickets are required to attend.

“We are proud to be a supporter of the arts and a sponsor of the Independence Day Eve concert at The Pavilion since its inception in 1990. In addition, we are also an advocate of The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra,” explains Jim Carman, President of the Houston Region for Howard Hughes. “Having a symphony orchestra within our hometown is another example of how lucky we are to live in The Woodlands and performing on such an occasion is a great representation of our community patriotism.”

Howard Hughes is an active philanthropist in the Greater Houston region, donating annually to approximately 130 causes in and around The Woodlands, Bridgeland and The Woodlands Hills through local nonprofit organizations. Annually, Howard Hughes employees serve on nearly 80 Boards and committees of local nonprofit organizations.

“The altruistic spirit from The Howard Hughes Corporation and The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is incredible, and we are grateful,” smiles The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra Artistic Director Darryl Bayer. “Imagine the overwhelming joy the dedicated orchestra members felt hearing they would be playing at The Pavilion—and on Independence Day Eve to boot!”

The Stars at Night – A Salute to Service is scheduled for Saturday, July 3 at 8 p.m. with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. For more information on the concert and other Pavilion events, visit www.woodlandscenter.org/events.
