Touchdowns, cheering crowds and bands playing have all been put on hold as Woodforest Bank Stadium has been converted to a drive-thru clinic for covid-19 vaccines. Recently, the Texas Department of State Health Service (DSHS) began allowing all adults 18 and older the opportunity to receive the vaccine. Frontline and essential personnel, the Texas National Guard and volunteers have come together to help residents in Montgomery County.

The Howard Hughes Corporation recently went to visit Woodforest Bank Stadium with the Tiki Food Truck, complete with complimentary ice cream bars, snow cones, cotton candy, soft drinks and water for all the workers.

“We are extremely appreciative of the support of our community as we continue to stand strong together to overcome this pandemic,” said Jim Carman, President, Houston Region for Howard Hughes.  “Through our HHCares program, we wanted to say thank you with a refreshing treat, a small token of appreciation for the hard work needed to vaccinate our community.”

Through the HHCares philanthropic initiative, Howard Hughes donates and volunteers annually to over 130 local causes of local nonprofit organizations.

Members from CHI St. Luke’s Health and Lone Star Family Health Center, both state-designated Covid-19 vaccine distribution hubs, the Texas National Guard,  Conroe Fire Department, Montgomery County Hospital District EMS and volunteers enjoyed the refreshments.
