The Howard Hughes Corporation has garnered four awards from the 2020 REDNews Real Estate Awards – Houston including Most Significant Sale Transaction for The Woodlands Towers at The Waterway; Multifamily Project for Lakeside Row The Residences in Bridgeland®; Executive of the Year, honoring Paul Layne, CEO of The Howard Hughes Corporation;  and Real Estate Lawyer of the Year, honoring Theresa Terrell, Senior Associate General Counsel for Howard Hughes.

Referencing the Most Significant Sale Transaction, The Howard Hughes Corporation acquired from Occidental Petroleum Corporation two, class AAA towers, recently rebranded, The Woodlands Towers at The Waterway, totaling 1.4 million square feet of premium office space, a warehouse building and 9.3 acres of developable land in The Woodlands Town Center, as well as the Century Park Campus in the West Houston Energy Corridor in December 2019. In turn, Occidental agreed to lease back from Howard Hughes 100% of the approximately 808,000-square-foot tower at 1201 Lake Robbins and 100% of the warehouse for 13 years.

The Multifamily community, Lakeside Row The Residences is a new, luxury 312-unit luxury project, developed by The Howard Hughes Corporation, which opened in the fall of 2019.  Convenient to the Grand Parkway in Cypress, Lakeside Row The Residences is in Bridgeland, the top-selling master planned community in Houston and in Texas and a development of Howard Hughes.

Paul H. Layne is the Chief Executive Officer and a Member of the Board of Directors of The Howard Hughes Corporation, overseeing one of the strongest real estate platforms in the country, including the preeminent portfolio of master planned communities. He is responsible for strategically positioning the company’s acclaimed commercial, residential and mixed-use assets to drive sustainable, long-term growth and value for company shareholders. He was recently promoted to this position from past President, Central Region in 2019.

Theresa Terrell serves as Senior Associate General Counsel for Howard Hughes. She is primarily responsible for managing office lease negotiations across the company’s portfolio spanning the Houston, Las Vegas, Chicago and Columbia, Maryland submarkets – handling over 200 leases and amendments for Howard Hughes in 2019.
