Summer Camps — Learning & Having Fun

With so many great summer camp options in The Woodlands, families have the option of enrolling their children in short duration camps/workshops or longer camps. Short duration lets you mix up the camp content and keep the fun fresh! The Woodlander shares 5 summer day camp and/or workshop standouts that caught our eye. They are:

SUNNY DAYZ TEEN CAMP

Sunny Dayz Teen Camp is produced by The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park for campers between the ages of 13 to 15 years old. This new camp is an extension of the current Sunny Dayz program and revolves around physical fitness with more engaging activities and projects for older campers. Teen campers will participate in gym games, outdoor activities and weekly field trips to fun places like Inspire Rock Climbing, Texas TreeVentures and Emergent VR Encounter. Campers also participate in service projects around the community and swim at the Rob Fleming Aquatics Center (joy on a “lazy river”!) There is also a Sunny Dayz Camp for younger children. JUST ADD BEATS SUMMER WORKSHOP

At The Woodlands Children’s Museum, 9-11-year olds can learn to record their own songs, podcasts and sound effects at this creative audio production workshop. With an audio professional acting as their own producer, the campers take home a digital copy of their audio work which can be distributed worldwide on Spotify, Apple Music, Soundcloud and more. No music experience is necessary. The Woodlands Children’s Museum also offers robotics and LEGO workshops. Learn more HERE.

WOW! WONDERS OF THE WOODLANDS SCIENCE CAMP

This outreach program of The Woodlands United Methodist Church takes children ages 3-10 on learning adventures about weather, natural disasters, the human body, food and mixtures/solutions through hands-on experiments, games and activities. Exceptional playground facilities and beautiful indoor obstacle course playroom at the church give this camp a nice brain and body balance. Learn more HERE.

THE WOODLANDS FAMILY YMCA SUMMER CAMPS

For all ages, this camp offers creative arts, sports, swimming, educational activities and a weekly field trip. To deliver on the Y’s commitment to nurture the potential of every child, this program helps campers discover what they are passionate about, forming healthy relationships and obtaining a sense of belonging. Learn more HERE.

CAMP GLADE

This summer The Glade Arts Foundation is offering art classes that range from painting to cardboard sculpture to tissue collage to improvisational jazz for kids from ages 7-14. Proceeds from these camps go towards Glade’s funding of their yearlong charity art programming including special art classes for the residents of New Danville, adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are given an opportunity to live enriched and purposeful lives. Learn more HERE.

Hope your children enjoy some of these fun camp experiences this summer.
