Celebrating Your Own Look — Baugh Beauty Playdate

The Woodlands resident Brooke Baugh, and daughters Emma and Taylor, enjoy a Saturday morning makeup, perfume and skincare shopping excursion grounded in the fact that beauty is no longer ruled by one set of ideas, norms or traditions.

Now, more than ever, women and men are able to define and to create their own beauty identity. In this spirit, Beauty Statement opened in 2016 in Hughes Landing. Based on extensive research, Beauty Statement has curated a broad range of beauty products heralded within the cosmetic, fragrance and skincare community itself. The result is pure beauty bliss—a stunning showroom stocked with the best of everything to enchance one’s own beauty. Store Manager Helena Parra, a Venuzeulan fine artist and beauty enthusiast, and her dedicated staff can help you look and feel your best with product samplings and suggestions. Or, if you like to shop alone, they understand, and will point you in the right direction.

Brooke works as a Development Consultant for The Wolford Group. She has an extensive backgroud in advertising, marketing, event planning, non-profit start-ups and grassroots advocacy. She began her career working for Swindell, Jones & Associates, a central Texas-based advertising agency, creating and implementing campaigns for local and regional clients. After losing her mother to cancer, Brooke was compelled to make a difference, which resulted in her establishing her own non-profit organization, Girls Run, to inspire girls ages 6-15 to embrace fitness and philanthropy, and educate them on cancer prevention and advocacy. She developed a successful fundraising program, along with educational/fitness programs, 5k races and a variety of fundraising events—some which require no-makeup, workout clothes and sneakers for this terrific mother/daughter triad and some which require a more glamorous beauty statement.

On this glamour-call note, Helena introduces Taylor to an exfoliating scrub by Terry Baume called “De Rose Body Scrub”. It’s light, rinses easily and leaves your skin feeling silky smooth.

Did you know Beauty Statement is the proud exclusive carrier of products by Kevyn Acoin, By Terry, Ellis Faas, Inglot, Girlactik, Leonor Greyl, Malin+Goetz and Moira? Yes, and their skin care products include Dr. Dennis E. Gross, Darphin and Sunday Riley.

Emma offers up her fragranced wrist for her mom to try “Mimosa Indigo” a perfume from Atelier Cologne with its strong citrus notes balanced by airy almond and leather bits. Brooke loves it! What a captivating and original scent!

Then, Emma and Taylor have fun playing at the makeup counter and suggest a new skin powder “Hyaluronic Hydra Powder” for mom to try by Terry Baume and then experiment with “Masque Fleurs de Jasmin” by Leonor Greyl.

Beauty Statement also coordinates events with jewelry artists, fashion boutiques and skincare representatives so sign-up with Helena to be added to their glamour e-mail list so you can be kept abreast of all the upcoming beauty fun.

Beauty Statement Makeovers are complementary with a cosmetics purchase of $45 or more. They also offer 35-minute Mini Facials when you spend $45 or more to treat your skincare concerns.

Beauty Statement encourages everyone to find their own beauty identity and to live it out loud and proud!

Brooke, Emma and Taylor thank Helena for today’s fun and fruitful Beauty Statement shopping experience! This fierce beauty trio will be back again soon when Brooke, who helps produce the “In the Pink” Memorial Hermann annual fundraiser with The Wolford Group, will need to shop for that perfect shade of pink lipstick to pair with her In The Pink dress!
