The Woodlands is one of the “greenest” communities in the country with a current total of nearly 8,000 acres of green space protected in the 116 parks, seven golf courses, and plentiful greenbelts and forest preserves. The Woodlands was once proclaimed “the invisible city” by a visiting journalist, because the trees are the overwhelming presence along major roadways, in the neighborhoods and even in the commercial areas.
