The South Montgomery County YMCA is opening their doors on Saturday, January 14 from 10:30 am – 1:30 pm at the Branch Crossing YMCA for a neighborhood Open House. Get Fit Together is the theme! Bring your family and a friend and be eligible for special drawings including a $100 gift card.
The first 400 guests in attendance, starting at 10:30 am, will receive a Free Y Workout Towel (limit 2 per family). Come dressed to workout and play together. New this year is the 1st Annual Toy Duck Roundup in the Water Park. Hundreds of plastic ducks will be dropped from the “Big Bucket”. Each duck will have a prize associated to it. Everyone will have a chance to catch a duck and claim the prize. Prizes may include one free month membership, $20 off swim lessons, $20 off Youth Sports registration, Free Class, Buy 1 Get 1 Free and more. Duck prizes must be redeemed on January 14. Every member of the family is eligible to catch a duck!
In addition, the annual “Polar Bear Plunge” will take place 1:00 – 1:30 pm at the Branch Crossing Water Park, (weather permitting). Those who dare to take the plunge down the water slide into the cold water will receive a special “Polar Bear T-shirt”.
Families are also invited to stop by the Creekside YMCA, located at 6464 Creekside Forest Drive, for Family Adventure Day from 9:30 am – 3:00 pm. Also, the Shadowbend YMCA, located at 6145 Shadowbend Place, is hosting an Aquatic Open House at their pool from 2 – 3 pm on January 14.
