The Woodlands’ Rip Reynolds Qualifies for the Boston Marathon

by The Woodlands

Along with being the Vice President, Leasing & Commercial Land for The Howard Hughes Corporation by day, Rip Reynold is an avid athlete during his recreational time. It is this enthusiasm for sports, especially running, that has earned Rip a spot at this year’s Boston Marathon. During the Chicago Marathon in October 2016, Rip qualified for the Boston Marathon with a time of 3 Hours, 17 minutes. The Boston Marathon will take place on Monday, April 16.

"I have been running my whole life. I started with 5K and 10K runs and gradually increased the distances,” said Reynolds.

Rip has competed in the Houston Half Marathon for 10 years; the half marathon race at The Woodlands Marathon since its inception in 2012; the Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas; the New York Marathon in 2014; and many more half marathons.

Rip has also discovered triathlons and gravitated to these competitions. In the last 10 years, he has participate in multiple half Ironman races and has recently competed in two Memorial Hermann Ironman races in The Woodlands.

"Running is a passion, and I’ve always enjoyed the competiveness and challenge of maximizing my physical and mental strength to achieve the best possible result. The Woodlands is one of the best places to live, train and compete with the different options from marathons to the Ironman,” said Reynolds.

We wish Rip Reynolds the best of luck. Hip, hip for Rip!
