Back-To-School Tips

by The Woodlands

Make the most of the evenings for smoother mornings.

Summer always seems to fly by so quickly, especially when the first day of the new school year approaches.

There are many ways to take advantage of preparing the evening before to help make the next morning go smoother for you and your child.

Here are some tips to make the back-to-school transition a bit easier:

  • Several days before school starts, have your child gradually go to bed earlier and wake up earlier in half-hour increments to get acclimated to the early rise time.
  • Choose outfits and lay them out the night before so there’s no delay with indecision in the morning. (Don’t forget tax-free weekend is Aug. 10 – 12!).
  • Pack lunch and set out what’s needed to make a quick, nutritious breakfast to ensure they leave with premium brain fuel.
  • Place necessities such as supplies and homework inside their backpack and place it by the door so it’s ready to grab and go.

Parents can also follow these evening tips to prepare for their day, so they’re not flustered in the mornings and are more available for their child.

Also, remember to be mindful of the school zones along their morning and afternoon driving routes.

Good luck with the coming school year. Before you know it, school will be out and it’ll be summer again!
